POST HISTORY
We are a Veterans’ Club.
American Legion Devereaux Post 141 was chartered in March of 1926. Eighty years later, March of 2006, we have close to 500 American Legion members. Our American Legion family also includes Auxiliary Unit 141 and the Sons of the American Legion.
The Post has been located on Grand River Avenue and M59 just west of Howell for many years, however we began construction of a new building on the site in 2003 and moved into the new building in February 2004. We’re as proud of our Club as we are of the Post.
The main level houses a large, wood-paneled bar with walk-in cooler and grill facilities, a complete kitchen, shuffleboard table, pool table and dance floor. Several TV’s are mounted to maximize viewing. The ‘back half’ of the main floor can be closed off, for use as hall rental. The lower level houses offices, mechanical, secondary bar, walk-in freezer, storage rooms and open seating to accommodate meetings.
So, who was Devereaux?
